The use on non-prescription drugs, or alcohol whilst at work (including driving) or attending work under the influence of the same is considered gross misconduct and staff should expect to be dismissed from the company if found to be in breach of this company rule.
Where an employee is believed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs whilst at work, they will be stopped from working and required to leave site pending an investigation.
The company will support any client that requires contractors to undertake any drug or alcohol test and expects all staff to subscribe accordingly.
Where staff are required to take prescription medication that could affect their ability to work safely, especially with respect to work at height, use of power tools and driving they should discuss the situation with their supervisor.
